Charni received her Masters Degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from the University of Colorado at Boulder and has spent her 21-year career as a Speech Language Pathologist in educational settings. She worked in the Douglas County School District for 10 of those years and for the past 11 years has worked in the Cherry Creek School District. She was recognized in both districts for her work with children, receiving the Apple Award from Sand Creek Elementary in 2013 and recognized as a finalist for the District Apple Award that same year. In 2022, she was given the Educator of the Year award from Rolling Hills Elementary in Cherry Creek. Charni believes that building relationships with the child, teacher and family forms the foundation for growth and success. She is passionate about helping children understand what they are learning in the classroom as well as in social situations, and providing them with the skills to communicate what they know, what they think and how they feel.
