Julie Tourigny, OTD, MS, OTR/L, is a nationally recognized pediatric occupational therapist with decades of experience working directly with young children to support their growth and development. Throughout her career, she has provided individualized, hands-on therapy to help children overcome challenges related to emotional regulation, executive function, sensory processing, and handwriting, empowering them to participate more fully and confidently in everyday activities at home, in school, and in their communities. As the Founder and Director of the Colorado Center for Pediatric Learning and Development, Julie integrates her extensive clinical expertise with a deep understanding of educational systems to bridge the gap between therapy and the classroom. Her approach is rooted in real-world experience, grounded in evidence, and deeply attuned to the developmental needs of early learners. Julie is the author of two widely used professional resources: Calm and In Control: Simple and Effective Strategies to Support Young Children’s Self-Regulation and Organized and Engaged: Simple and Effective Strategies to Support Executive Function. Her upcoming third book, Alert and Attentive, launching in Fall 2025, expands on her trusted approach with powerful strategies to support focus and attention in early learners. In addition to her clinical work, Julie provides engaging workshops, nationwide trainings, and accessible tools for educators, therapists, and caregivers. Her practical, evidence-based strategies make a lasting impact, promoting self-regulation, executive function, and social-emotional development in young children. Julie’s work continues to shape the field of early childhood education and intervention—making her books and trainings essential resources for anyone working to help children succeed.
